About BPC-157
BPC-157 is an investigational peptide composed of 15 amino acids, making it a pentadecapeptide. It is described in research literature as a partial sequence of body protection compound (BPC), a compound identified in gastric juice. Research on BPC-157 examines cellular responses in experimental tissue models.
Primary studies have investigated tendon fibroblast migration, cell survival under oxidative stress and tendon-explant outgrowth in laboratory models. Mechanistic work has examined focal adhesion kinase (FAK) and paxillin signalling, as well as growth hormone receptor expression in rat tendon fibroblasts. Animal studies have also explored tendon tissue responses following experimental injury.
